Despite Landmark Status, P.S. 64's Owner Is Stripping It
On Tuesday, July 25, the owner of P.S. 64 began demolition of the facade, despite the fact that the building was unanimously designated a historic landmark by the Landmark Commission in June. The owner is acting on a permit that pre-dates the Landmark decision; the permit has not yet expired. Watch for coverage of this inexplicable destruction in our local newspapers. In the meantime, take a look below at the first irreversible damage.
